He left to take a position with Iowa State University supervising the University's Accounts Payable office, and very shortly after was offered a promotion to manage the business operations for the campus bookstore.  During his employment he worked with the IT department to implement a student charge system and was the first college bookstore in the nation to use EDI in the procurement of general merchandise.

Antwan was later recruited by Howard University as Director of the University Bookstore, where he led a $4 million, 33,000 square foot renovation to build a new bookstore on the first two floors of the former Howard University Hotel on Georgia Ave.  The new bookstore generated over $8 million in sales and hosted nearly 100 author events annually for numerous celebrities & VIP's.  In addition to the campus store's, he was asked to assume responsibility for Howard's trademark licensing, short-term vending, and marketing of auxiliary operations.  Antwan was the driving force behind the recommendation to develop a new athletic logo for the University.  In 2014, he led the transition of the campus bookstores to an outsourced operation, co-branded as Barnes & Noble at Howard University.

Antwan was subsequently promoted to Director of Auxiliary Enterprises, and served as the senior business executive responsible for providing leadership, direction, and financial oversight for the campus stores, dining services, one card, printing & post office, trademark licensing, vending, and other business services.  His responsibility included overseeing contracts with Sodexo, Barnes & Noble, Swiss Post, Blackboard, Pepsi, Canteen, Xerox, IMG College, & Starbucks.  Under his leadership he negotiated a $3.7 million CAPX renovation with Sodexo of the Blackburn student center dining facilities, and implemented a new beverage pouring rights agreement with Pepsi moving from a six-year, $3 million deal to a five-year, $4.6 million contract.

Over his career he has served on numerous industry and university committees, including Howard's Middle State Accreditation Task Force, Branding Committee, and was nominated for "Collegiate Retailer of the Year" in 2012.  Antwan has also facilitated educational sessions at national conferences on "Expanding the Mission of the Traditional College Bookstore", "Marketing to Minority Students on Your Campus", and "Cost Effective Store Renovations".

His experience includes contract negotiation, lease operations, inventory & project management, financial reporting & analysis, budgeting, marketing, and information systems.
